The Internet looked very different in 2013
There was limited use of:
Netflix (video-streaming), DVD movies by mail
Cloud services were for BIG corporations
No IOT (internet of things) - Smart City
Telemedicine
Online education

In 2013 there were three incumbent telecommunication companies in Rexburg
CableOne
CenturyLink
FairPoint
Telecommunication providers had not made a significant investment in many years

New providers:
Optix Media (now Direct)
SilverStar Communications
Existing Telecom’s started investing in Rexburg
But:
Providers cherry picked: businesses and large apartment complexes (single student)
They left behind
Single family housing
Small business
