Re: Fabral’s Grandrib 3+ Code Compliance Sheet
(Please note: fasteners should be #10’s into Purlins and #14’s into Plywood and OSB)
Installation Grandrib 3+ is to be installed with corrugations perpendicular to
open framing spaced not to exceed span rating. It is intended for
use as roofing and siding. Grandrib 3+ is not required to have
decking. The minimum requirement for fasteners and adjustments
to fasteners to account for wind speeds are per the engineer of
record.
Material Specs Grandrib 3+ is made from 29 ga 80 KSI galvanized steel with a
G90 rating conforming to ASTM A 653 and ASTM A 924, and has
a Siliconized Modified Polyester paint system with a total dry film
thickness of 1 mil topcoat.
Span Ratings Panel will carry 112 PSF on 24” center supports in a three span
condition. Loading capacity is calculated based on section
properties. These properties are in conformance with 1986 AISI &
1986 Aluminum Association Specifications.
Fire Classification Class A fire rating per UL 2218, per ICC Section 1505

Weather Protection Fabrals position is that section 1403.2, regarding weather
protection, does not apply to the Grandrib 3+. Section 1403.2 is
intended for wall assemblies with exterior veneer, and does not
apply to typical metal wall construction that is not a veneer as
defined in the IBC .
Diaphram Strength Fabral Grandrib 3+ has been tested for diaphragm strength per
ASAE EP558 “Load Tests for Metal-Clad, Wood-Frame
Diaphragms” and can be used as part of the building lateral force
resisting system per IBC2306 reference standard ASAE EP484.2
“Diaphragm Design of Metal Clad, Wood-Frame Rectangular
Buildings”. Diaphragm design values and test data are available
upon request.
