July 9, 2002 PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION CITY OF REXBURG BOX 280 REXBURG, IDAHO 83440 Dear Commissioners: This letter is regarding the public hearing to be held on Thursday, July 18, 2002 at 7:15 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 12 North Center, Rexburg, Idaho, concerning the Conditional Use Permit for a two unit rental. This property is located at 113 South 3rd North, in Rexburg, Madison County, Idaho. I will not list the legal description, assuming that the Street address is sufficient for this purpose to identify the property in question. We purchase this property in July of 1996 to provide a residence for our daughter, and also to rent the basement unit, which our daughter would manage. Our daughter resided therefor aproxamently six or eight months, then decided to move to Salt Lake City. We then began renting the upper unit as well, and have been managing the rentals from our home in Aloha, Oregon, with frequent trips to Rexburg, to take care of repairs, and cleaning, when there has been vacancies.. As absentee owners, we were not aware of the requirement to obtain a Conditional Use Permit, or if in fact the previous owners had obtained one. We therefore, now respectfully apply for the permit, that we may comply with the City of Rexburg's regulations and requirements. We have authorized Mary Lee Hill of the Real Estate Office, Rexburg, Idaho, to be our agent for obtaining the Conditional Use Permit, in our absentence from the hearing.
