It appears section 403.5.1 allowance for narrower landing with wider ramp run on accessible route was intended. New question: Are you okay with having the outer handrail stop with the extensions at the intermediate landing if needed to obtain the 48” clearance at the turn? Revision response Yes, all handrails will be evaluated to ensure that proper radius is in compliance. Description Building complies with IECC (IBC 1301) Comments No energy report submitted on the new east entry. Please submit report or show compliance with prescriptive requirements of IECC. Revision response The energy report will be attached with this document. Description Structural Steel designed by a licensed Engineer and meets the requirements of IBC Chp. 22 Comments Original: No engineer’s stamp on structural plans. Stamped drawings were stamped for Utah and not Idaho New question: When new ones are submitted, can they have the correct building code and wind load listed on plans? | Terrie Larsen University Architect/ Interior Designer | Phone: (208) 496-2662 | larsent@byui.edu | Revision response Yes, new structural plans have been submitted as a part of this response letter. Engineer designed for 2015 IBC. Description Glass and Glazing meets the requirements of IBC Chapter 24 Comments Original: Safety glazing is expected as standard in doors, on storefront assemblies and in door slide lites. The window schedule on AE601 only shows 2 windows for a room 214 (?). The window schedule does not identify other windows such as referenced on east entrance floor plan (need required safety glazing shown). New question: is there an exception for the windows adjacent to ramp in east entrance? Per IBC 2406.4.6 shows it requiring safety glazing. Please Verify. Revision response Safety glazing in the entry will be provided on both the north and south sides of the new entry. No exception will be taken for the window near the ramp.
