In section 5.6 of the Development Code (marked as 1.6 in the link below), parking and maneuvering areas are not permitted in the required front yard. Zones LDR1 & LDR2 have an exception to this for single family structures, but medium density zones restrict parking in front (see last sentence of section 5.6). Parking at the existing house can be grandfathered in but new parking must meet the requirements of the current zone.
