Below is an Idaho State Plumbing Code (ISPC) change that became law on March 28, 2018.
Removal of the Cross Connection Control Manual, published by the Pacific Northwest
Section of the American Water Works Association, from IDAPA 07.02.04.012.
All backflow requirements will be enforced according to the ISPC. Double check backflow
assemblies (DCBA) will no longer be allowed in lawn sprinkler applications. A list of approved
devices can be found in the ISPC, chapter 6, section 603.5.6. A copy of the ISPC can be found
on the Division of Building Safety’s website at https://dbs.idaho.gov/programs/plumbing/.
Any DCBAs installed prior to this code change will not need to be removed unless they can no
longer be repaired and must be replaced.
