Dear Richie,
Thank you for your timely submittal of the Hemming Shared Parking Analysis. In our previous
meeting we requested a study to show how required parking numbers could be reduced by
identifying shared parking. The plan you have submitted has been reviewed by myself and the City
Planner, Craig Rindlisbacher.
The City of Rexburg Development Code allows for shared parking when a plan has been approved
by the Zoning Administrator. After review, we feel that your request meets the spirit of the code
requirement. However, if in the future if it is found that the overlaps of use are not working as
planned, additional parking would then be required. We feel that there is room to add spaces in the
block between 1st and 2nd South if needed.
This letter will be included along with a copy of your parking analysis in the permit file. As you
know, commercial tenants come and go and therefore uses change. Future changes in use must not
create a situation where additional parking is required unless a new analysis is provided and reviewed
by the City of Rexburg. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
