Location 2: 829 S 5th W Rexburg, ID 83440 AUTHORITY: § 6.13 (E) “The Commission may recommend that the amendment be granted as requested, that it be modified, or that it be denied” STAFF REVIEWS: I. BACKGROUND The subject property at location 1. is an area of unincorporated property bordered by the City of Rexburg on all sides. The property became an island when the Barney property was annexed into the city in 2018. The property at location 2 is recently acquired city property as a future designation for a park. II. SITE DESCRIPTION Location 1 borders Barney Dairy Rd. to the north and N. Hill Rd. to the west and agricultural land to the west. Location 2 borders residential on its north, south, and western borders and BYU-Idaho property to the east. III. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that the Commission take public testimony and determine if the proposed annexation can be approved, denied, or approved with conditions. The Comprehensive Plan identifies both locations as Low to Moderate Density Residential. The requested zoning is Low Density Residential 1 for Location 1. Location 2 will be rezoned at a later time.
