I arrived on site and began my observations of the reinforcement for the foundation walls and concrete
piers. I observed that the contractor had placed the reinforcement in general conformance with the project
documents and had placed the bolts for the columns prior to the concrete being placed. The first load of
concrete was tested and an air content of 9.9% was observed. The driver spun the drum to reduce the air
content. The concrete was tested again from the truck and the air content was 8.8%. I then tested the
concrete from the hose of the pump and a 4.0% air content was recorded. The contractor was notified of
the air test results as they were completed.
