RE: Building Permit 17-00729
Dear Brad,
This is a notice that your project has gone 150 days without an inspection, and is 30 days from expiring.
Recently, the City of Rexburg Building Department has undertaken an effort to go through existing
permits that have not been completed. The project at 155 Elm Ave., never received a final inspection.
The permit for the project was issued December 15, 2017, and the last inspection was completed on
August 30, 2018.
As stated in the 2015 International Residential Code, which has been adopted by the City of Rexburg,
“every permit issued shall become invalid…if the work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of
180 days after the time the work is commenced”. If you wish to resume work on an expired permit, you will
have to resubmit a new application and pay new fees. In order to avoid any additional fees, please contact
our office within 30 days of receiving this letter to renew this permit by leaving a message on the hotline
(208.372.2344) to complete the required inspections. Otherwise, the permit will be considered expired
and the City of Rexburg Building Department will deem this space “unfinished”.
Please contact Shauna, the city Permit Technician, if you have any questions. She can be reached at
208.372.2166 or shauna.eaton@rexburg.org.
Sincerely,
The City of Rexburg
Building Department
