As I was going through my desk at work this last Saturday morning, (I can get a lot done when no -one is here) I came across a number of photo ID tags that came from a display on my office wall. This display contains current Rexburg City em- ployees. When employees leave or retire I remove their picture and put them in my desk. There are quite a number of them after just a few years. It was a time for remembering and a time of reflection. Some memories are especially dear to me. I retired a picture just a few days ago of one of Rexburg’s Finest, Officer Lyndon Baron who has served the City well. He has moved on to a community in another State. We wish him the very best and will miss him. I came across another photo that saddened me. Don Eborn served the community well both as a nurse and as fulltime fireman/paramedic for over thirty years. One of the first functions as a new Mayor was to attend his retirement party and just recently I attended his funeral. I was able to visit with a number of people. Chief Cory Child said, “Don Eborn was the steadying force of calm in sometimes scary situations”. We will miss Don Eborn. I and our citizens want to express our sadness and condo- lences to his wife, Annette. Thank You Annette and thank you Don Eborn for making a difference in our community. -Richard S.
