Community Update
Mayors Message:
Well it has been a whirlwind. There are so many things taking place in
Madison County and the City of Rexburg that it boggles the imagination.
I am excited to live in these times and yet frightened too. We can look to
our Nation with consternation and the whole world in general. We can
see changes coming beyond our control, yet within our Madison County
and Rexburg area we can have a “heard voice,” concerning our future and
our children’s future.
As a community we have been involved recently in the Envision Madison
process and have just completed the first part of it. I am excited with the
thought that many voices were heard from. I am pleased to know that
we can help shape our future. We can have a say in what is to come for
our locale. If we don’t take an active part in making our voices heard,
then only we ourselves are to blame.
The Envision Madison process is democracy in action with all people
having an opportunity to contribute and decide. Because Envision Madi-
son is governed by a local group of concerned community members we
can be assured that process protects property rights and assures us an un-
biased or outside influence on our future. The Envision Madison Execu-
tive Board looked for a method that would be fair and open to shape the
future.
We encourage your participation in future events. We will be looking for
your continued input throughout the summer as we prepare for town hall
meetings at the end of September. Look for more information in our lo-
cal papers, or on the Envision Madison web-
site: www.envisionmadison.com, while there
please participate in a short survey. Your input
is valued, if you have ideas please email Envi-
sion Madison at:
