Mayors Message:
Well Our Soldiers Are Home
I am so happy. It was a great pleasure to meet each flight as they came in from Fort
Lewis. The Mayors from Rexburg, Idaho Falls, and Rigby were there or at least a rep-
resentative of their city to greet each soldier. It was great to see the “little ones”, eyes
wide in excitement, as their dads and moms met them. There were tears of joy and
happiness. What a relief. What a great honor to share in their homecoming.
I am ever amazed at the sacrifices made for our way of life. A good example is our
right to vote. Until US forces entered those middle eastern nations, the concept of the
right to vote was an unrealized dream. We, here in the West tend to take the right to
vote for granted. I implore all of the citizens of Rexburg to get out and exercise their
“fought for and died for” right to vote.
In this way we can truly honor those who have sacrificed for us.
