Public Works looks at right-of-way that would be needed for future road build-out. Minor arterial is 70’ right-
of-way. This means an additional 15’ of right-of-way. The intersection is not good for visibility. He was
looking at future options to get the intersection as much of a 90 degree intersection as possible. Two options
for roads were discussed right by Alpine Storage. Traffic counts for cars, and truck traffic are things that
impact the decision.
The applicant is trying to beautify where there was previous open storage.
20’ between fence and building. Need 55’-65’ for RV Storage. He has about 10’-15’ of wiggle room.
Plan of Action:
• Traffic counters to determine impact of Thornton interchange.
• Internal discussion on Impact Area Requirements and Design Standards with County & City, then
communicate with Applicants Thursday, November 29
