There is an rite of way on your property that allows people to use the sidewalk, curb, and gutter on your property. Land owners are responsible for repairs on those items in the city of Rexburg. My records indicate 18 sq yds of sidewalk and 64 ft of curb and gutter was replaced. Furthermore, we already had sidewalks and things in place. Was there really anything done to our property? I also believe we gave the extra land in front where the side walk is to the city. Therefore, isn't it city property? Thanks, Josh 1 On Sat, Sep 22, 2018 at 3:00 PM Noah Phethean <noah.phethean@rexburg.org> wrote: Hi Josh, thnd In 2017 a notice went out informing land owners on 5 West, 2 West, and other areas that sidewalk, curb, and gutter construction was going to take place. Land owners are financially responsible for the construction that took place on their property. The City of Rexburg subsidized a portion of the work that took place. On October 3, 2018 there will be a city council meeting to pass Local Improvement District (LID) 47. After the ordinance is passed, a final invoice will be sent out the with official cost each land owner is responsible to repay to the city for sidewalk, curb, and gutter that took place on his or her land. At that time land owners will have one of three payment options: 1.Pay the balance in full, no lien is put on the land owner’s property 2.Make annual payments over 10 years, a lien is put on the property until the balance is paid in full, 6.25% APR will be assessed 3.Make monthly payments through city utility payments over 10 years until the balance is paid in full, 6.25% APR will be assessed If you have additional questions about the breakdown of the costs of the construction, Joel, city engineer, is a great resource to address questions. What is this for? I did not understand. It says that an assessment of $3,919 is there. What is that for? Thanks, Josh 3
