What are we? -Project R is a club on campus (Brigham Young University – Idaho) seeking to be a non-profit organization. 1.2. What are we doing? -Developed a 5K race o Donate the fundraised money to the most local refugee center; Twin Falls, Idaho. - ​http://refugeecenter.csi.edu/​ - 1.3. Why are we doing it? -To increase awareness and enhance empathy/sympathy students and residents have towards refugees. -Unite students and Rexburg citizens in the same cause, and, help create a better life for refugees as they integrate into western society. 1.4. How are we going to do this? -Seek sponsorship from Car dealerships, Broulims, Alpha Graphics, Beehive Credit Union, Main Street Jewelers, Junes Place, 0500 Mechanics, Rexburg School of Massage Therapy, Fresco Kitchen and Grill, Melaleuca, doTerra, and Ion Solar. -PR: Ask the City Council if we can present the Run for a Refugee idea. -PR: Speak with East Idaho News and ask for them to join us at a City Council meeting. -Create a racecourse. -Have Arthur take care of finding committed, genuine, interested volunteers that can help direct runners the-day-of. -Find speakers to play music/DJ. -Use Eventbrite to manage the 5k Event online with a ​$10.00 admission cost​. - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/run-for-a-refugee-tickets-48560898956​ - -Find a photographer and videographer -Work with the Twin Falls refugee center and ask for photos/videos of local refugees to promote awareness and advertising leading up the race. -Obtain Public Gathering Permit -Speak with the Armature Radio Society about communication during Race -Speak with Jodi Howard Faculty Member of BYU-Idaho about First-Aid certified volunteers to help with the race. -Create a Facebook page for those interested to follow us. - ​https://www.facebook.com/events/303188593558471/ 1.5. Our Goal: -Make $1,000.00 to send to the Twin Falls Refugee Center -Have 100 T ’Shirts to give to our runners with our logo and sponsorship names. 1.6. How can you help: -We currently have $200.00 worth of Gift Cards from Fresco Kitchen and Grill.
