THROUGH THE COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT. APPROXIMATE LOCATIONS OF EXISTING UTILITIES HAVE BEEN SHOWN ON THE PROJECT PLANS. THEY ARE TO BE USED FOR GENERAL INFORMATION ONLY. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO NOTIFY THE APPROPRIATE UTILITIES PRIOR TO THE START OF ANY CONSTRUCTION. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE THE UTILITIES MARKED / LOCATED IN THE FIELD BY THE APPROPRIATE AGENCIES PRIOR TO THE START OF WORK. CONTACT "DIG -LINE" AT 1-800-342-1585. ANY DAMAGE OR DISTURBANCE OF EXISTING UTILITIES AND THE COST FOR IMPACTS AND RESTORATION SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. ANY CONFLICTS OR DISCREPANCIES WITH EXISTING UTILITIES SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY. ANY WORK DONE WITHIN A PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE APPROPRIATE TRANSPORTATION AGENCY AND SHALL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THAT AGENCY AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF ANY RIGHT-OF-WAY OR SPECIAL USE PERMITS. CONTRACTOR SHALL RECORD THE LOCATION OF VALVES, SERVICES AND ANY CHANGES TO THESE PLANS ON A SET OF RECORD DRAWINGS. DRAWINGS SHALL BE RETURNED TO THE ENGINEER AT COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT. ALL CONSTRUCTION ON THIS PROJECT SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CITY OF REXBURG REQUIREMENTS OR THE IDAHO STANDARDS FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION (I.S.P.W.C. CURRENT EDITION). THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE CITY AND WITH THE ENGINEER FOR ALL UTILITY INSPECTIONS PRIOR TO BACKFILLING. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL CONNECTIONS TO EXISTING UTILITIES WITH THE APPROPRIATE CITY PERSONNEL. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL INSPECTIONS WITH THE ENGINEER AND WITH THE CITY ENGINEER. AT A MINIMUM, THE ENGINEER SHALL BE NOTIFIED TO INSPECT: 1) SEWER PRIOR TO BACK FILLING, 2) WATER PRIOR TO BACK FILLING, 3) STORM SEWER PRIOR TO BACK FILLING, 4) CURB & GUTTER AND FORMS PRIOR TO POURING, 5) PARKING GRADES PRIOR TO PAVING, 6) ASPHALT DURING PAVING. LOCATION PHASE 1 & 2 DEVELOPMENT IN: REXBURG, MADISON COUNTY, IDAHO PROJECT NO. 2012.002 DATE APRIL 2012 WATER GENERAL NOTES DIMENSIONS SHOWN ARE TO THE CENTER OF THE PIPELINE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. DISTANCES SHOWN ALONG PIPELINES ARE HORIZONTAL DISTANCES AND NOT ACTUAL PIPE LENGTH. MORE PIPE MAY BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE CONSTRUCTION THAN IS DIMENSIONED ON THE PLANS. ALL WATER LINES ARE TO BE LOCATED AS SHOWN ON THE PROJECT PLANS UNLESS RELOCATED IN THE FIELD BY THE ENGINEER. MINIMUM CLEARANCE BETWEEN NEW PIPELINES AND EXISTING UTILITIES AND STRUCTURES (EXCEPT SEWERS) SHALL BE FIVE FEET HORIZONTALLY. SEPARATION BETWEEN WATER LINES AND OTHER UTILITIES SHALL BE 10' MIN. THRUST BLOCKS SHALL BE PLACED ON WATERLINES AT ALL DIRECTION CHANGES, FITTINGS, BENDS, ELBOWS, FIRE HYDRANTS AND GATES VALVES AS SHOWN IN THE PROJECT PLANS. MINIMUM COVER FOR WATERLINES SHALL BE SIX FEET, EIGHT FEET MAXIMUM, MEASURED TO THE TOP OF PIPE UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN ON THE PLANS. THERE SHALL BE TEN FEET MINIMUM SEPARATION BETWEEN ALL NEW WATERLINES AND NEW SEWER LINES EXCEPT WHERE THE LINES CROSS AT APPROXIMATE RIGHT ANGLES. A MINIMUM OF OF 18 INCHES VERTICAL SEPARATION SHALL BE MAINTAINED AT ALL CROSSINGS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL LIVE TAPS AND ANY OTHER WORK OR MANIPULATION OF THE EXISTING WATER SYSTEM WITH THE ENGINEER AND THE WATER SYSTEM CITY. CHLORINATION WILL BE DONE BY THE CONTRACTOR AT THE CONTRACTORS EXPENSE. THE CONTRACTOR IS TO USE SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE TO CHLORINATE THE SYSTEM AS OUTLINED IN SECTION 401.3.9.B.2.a&B OF DIVISION 400 OF THE ISPWC. THE CONTRACTOR IS TO FOLLOW THE FILLING PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN SECTION 401.3.9.B.b.4 IN DIVISION 400 OF THE ISPWC. THE CONTRACTOR IS ALSO TO FOLLOW THE FINAL FLUSHING AND BACTERIOLOGICAL TESTS AS OUTLINED IN SECTION 3.9.0&D OF DIVISION 400 OF THE ISPWC. ALL WATER SYSTEM COMPONENTS SHALL BE INSTALLED, PRESSURE TESTED, AND CHLORINATED. THE TESTING IS TO INCLUDE FLUSHING AND DISINFECTION AS OUTLINED IN SECTION 401.3.9 OF DIVISION 400 OF THE ISPWC. ALL GATE VALVES SHALL BE LOCATED NEAR TO TEES OR CROSSES AND THEIR ASSOCIATED REDUCERS AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS. ALL CROSSES AND TEES SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH THE BRANCHES HAVING THE SIZE OF THE LARGEST ADJOINING PIPE UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN. THE CONNECTION TO THE SMALLER LINES SHALL THEN BE MADE BY MEANS OF REDUCERS.
