Mixed use occupancies meet the requirements of IBC Section 508 REVISIONSBased on size of building it should have rated separation between B & S1 occupancy and the S-2 occupancy. * As an existing building the actual separation and rating is not identified on plans. Removing the door between the service center and the main section of the building without replacing it, eliminates the existing separation and creates a higher hazard. This door will need to remain or have a properly rated door if being replaced. Existing separation from the S-2 occupancy needs to remain as is or meet required fire rating if altered. *Revisions Response : Handrails and Guards meet the requirements of IBC Sections 1014 and 1015 REVISIONSRequired guards shall be 42" minimum above the walking surface and the front edge of stair treads *Revisions Response : Service Facilities comply with IBC 1109.12 REVISIONSService counters shall be no more than 36" above floor for a length of 36" (parallel approach) or 30" (forward approach). *Revisions Response : Reviewed By: Quinton Owens Review Date: 04/17/2018 Plan Review Details quinton.owens@rexburg.org Building Review Status: REVISIONS Page 1 of 2 Approval of plans does not constitute approval of variance from code All guards have been changed to 42" All applicable counters have been lowered to 36" for the parallel approach The door between the main section and the service center will remain Building Review (Continued) D ESCRIPTIO N CO MMEN TS STATUS Fire resistance rating of building elements meet Sect. 704 & Table 601 Existing V-B construction?
