PROCLAMATION

KIMBER RICKS
MADISON COUNTY COMMISSIONER
WHEREAS: Kimber Ricks has volunteered for over twenty years to encourage Madison County Economic Development, including playing a key role in the Rexburg Business Park; also, serving
on the Rexburg Urban Renewal Agency Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS: He has had a distinguished professional career as a Certified Public Accountant, and eleven years as our Madison County Commissioner serving on the Health Board, Eastern Idaho
Fair Committee, Tri County Probation, Five C Detention, Drug Court Executive Committee, ECIPDA Board, Idaho Rural Partnership and High Country RC & D; and
WHEREAS: It is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to Kimber Ricks for his contribution to the City of Rexburg and his contribution to protect and enhance the health,
welfare and safety of the Citizens of Madison County while serving as Chairman of the Madison County Commissioners for five years; and
WHEREAS: He was a driving force in creating the Madison County Centennial Park in front of the Madison County Court House; and
WHEREAS: Kimber and his wife Dorothy Ann Ricks were recognized by the Rexburg Chamber of Commerce as “Grand Marshals” for the 2017 Fourth of July Parade, including recalling the couple’s
experience overseeing the 1993 Whoopee Days Celebration which that year's Fourth of July parade was interrupted by a blizzard during the parade;
NOW, THEREFORE I, Jerry Merrill by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Rexburg do hereby proclaim the week of January 22nd through January 27th, 2018 as
KIMBER RICKS WEEK
AND ask our citizens to recognize Kimber Ricks for his dedicated service as a Madison County Commissioner for the past eleven years and his contribution to the Rexburg Redevelopment
Agency to help in the growth of Rexburg.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and
caused the Seal of the City of Rexburg to be affixed this 22nd day of January of the year of our Lord two thousand eighteen.
