BLAZEMASTER
CPVC Fire Sprinkler Pipe & Fittings
Submittal Sheet
General
Description
TYCO CPVC Pipe and Fittings pro-
duced by Tyco Fire Protection Prod-
ucts (TFPP) are designed exclusively
for use in wet pipe automatic fire
sprinkler systems. The TYCO CPVC
Pipe and Fittings are produced from
BLAZEMASTER CPVC compound
that is a specially developed thermo-
plastic compound composed of post
chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC)
resin and state of the art additives.
TYCO CPVC Pipe and Fittings are
easier to install than traditional steel
pipe systems, and at the same time,
provide superior heat resistance and
strength as compared to traditional
CPVC and PVC piping materials used
in the plumbing trade. Various adapt-
ers are available to connect CPVC
pipe to metallic piping. All female pipe
thread adapters have brass inserts for
durability. Grooved adapters connect
directly to grooved end valves and
metallic pipe, with flexible grooved end
couplings.
NOTICE
The CPVC Pipe and Fittings produced
with BLAZEMASTER CPVC compound
described herein must be installed
and maintained in compliance with
this document and with the applicable
standards of the National Fire Protec-
tion Association (NFPA), in addition to
the standards of any authorities having
jurisdiction. Failure to do so may impair
the performance of these devices.
The owner is responsible for main-
taining their fire protection system
and devices in proper operating con-
dition. Contact the installing contrac-
tor or product manufacturer with any
questions.

CONVENTIONAL (OLD STYLE)
The Globe Quick Response GL Series Sprinklers are a
low profile yet durable design which utilizes a 3mm frangible glass
ampule as the thermosensitive element. This provides sprinkler
operation approximately six times faster than ordinary sprinklers.
While the Quick Response Sprinkler provides an aesthetically
pleasing appearance, it can be installed wherever standard spray
sprinklers are specified when allowed by the applicable stan-
dards. It offers the additional feature of greatly increased safe-
ty to life and is available in various styles, orifices, temperature
ratings and finishes to meet many varying design requirements.
Quick Response Sprinklers should be used advisedly and under
the direction of approving authorities having jurisdiction.
The heart of Globe's GL Series sprinkler proven actuat-
ing assembly is a hermetically sealed frangible glass ampule that
contains a precisely measured amount of fluid. When heat is ab-
sorbed, the liquid within the bulb expands increasing the internal
pressure. At the prescribed temperature the internal pressure
within the ampule exceeds the strength of the glass causing the
glass to shatter. This results in water discharge which is distrib-
uted in an approved pattern depending upon the deflector style
used.

gible glass ampule as the thermosensitive element. They feature
economy, aesthetics and low flow.
The combination of the 3mm frangible glass ampule and spe-
cially designed deflector make the Model GL4110 and GL4910
Residential Sprinklers the ultimate in life safety and fire control.
These Globe Pendent and Recessed Pendent Residential Sprin-
klers have met the strict requirements of Underwriters Laboratories
Inc. as described in the UL Standard for Residential Sprinklers for
Fire Protection Service, UL 1626, and should be used accordingly.
These sprinklers should also be installed in accordance with the
appropriate NFPA Standard 13, 13D or 13R and under the direc-
tion of the approving authorities having jurisdiction.
The heart of Globe's Model GL4110 and GL4910 sprinklers
proven actuating assembly is a hermetically sealed frangible glass
ampule that contains a precisely measured amount of fluid. When
heat is absorbed, the liquid within the bulb expands increasing the
internal pressure. At the prescribed temperature the internal pres-
sure within the ampule exceeds the strength of the glass causing
the glass to shatter. This results in water discharge which is distrib-
uted in an approved pattern.
The sprinkler and escutcheon are not factory assembled.
Assembly is done in the field.

QUICK RESPONSE
AUTOMATIC SPRINKLERS
GL SERIES DRY TYPE
HORIZONTAL SIDEWALL
The Globe Quick Response GL Series Dry Type Horizontal Sidewall
Sprinkler is designed for use in special applications such as freezing
environments and conditions where sediment orforeign materials might
accumulate in ordinary horizontal pipe nipples.
The Globe Quick Response GL Series Dry Type Horizontal Sidewall
Sprinkler utilizes a 3mm frangible glass ampule as the thermosensitive
element. This provides sprinkler operation approximately six times
faster than ordinary sprinklers. At the ampule's rated temperature,
the sprinkler opens releasing the bulb seat, causing the inner tube
assembly to move, allowing the spring assembly to pivot alongside
the inner tube. At this time, water flows through the sprinkler and is
distributed by the deflector, in an approved discharge pattern. It can be
installed wherever standard spray sprinklers are specified but offers the
additional feature of greatly increased safety to life. Quick Response
Sprinklers should be used advisedly and under the direction of approv-
ing authorities having jurisdiction.
The heart of Globe's GL Series sprinkler proven actuating assembly
is a hermetically sealed frangible glass ampule that contains a precisely
measured amount of fluid. When heat is absorbed, the liquid within
the bulb expands increasing the internal pressure. At the prescribed
temperature the internal pressure within the ampule exceeds the
strength of the glass causing the glass to shatter. This results in water
discharge which is distributed in an approved pattern.

Horizontal Sidewall sprinklers (Figs. 5, 6 & 7) are equally attrac-
tive when above ceiling piping cannot be used.
The 3mm glass -bulb pendent sprinklers permit the efficient use
of residential water supplies for sprinkler coverage in residential
fire protection design.
The low flow F1 Res sprinklers are specially engineered for fast
thermal response to meet the sensitive fire protection applica-
tion needs of the latest residential market standards (UL 1626
Standard). Upon fire conditions, rising heat causes a sprinkler's
heat -sensitive element, glass bulb or link to actuate, releasing the
waterway for water flow onto the deflector, evenly distributing the
discharged water to control a fire.

Maintenance
Model F1 Res 30, 49, F1 Res 58, F1 Res 76 and F1 Res
44 Sprinklers should be inspected and the sprinkler sys-
tem maintained in accordance with NFPA 25, 13, 13D,
and 13R. Do not clean sprinkler with soap and water, Am-
monia or any other cleaning fluids. Remove dust by using
a soft brush or gentle vacuuming. Remove any sprinkler
which has been painted (other than factory applied) or
damaged in any way. A stock of spare sprinklers should
be maintained to allow quick replacement of damaged or
operated sprinklers. Prior to installation, sprinklers should
remain in the original cartons and packaging until used.
This will minimize the potential for damage to sprinklers
that could cause improper operation or non -operation.

General
Description
3) Riser M
nch (DN40
Sprinkler
The Figure 513 (13) Riser Manifolds
described in this technical data sheet
provide the necessary waterflow
alarm, pressure gauge, alarm test ori-
fice, drain, and sight glass equipment
in a single assembly for use in NFPA
13 sprinkler systems as follows:
NFPA 13`
• 1-112 Inch (DN40)
Male Thread x Female Thread
• 1-112 thru 6 Inch (DN40 thru DN150)
Groove x Groove
`Although the Riser Manifold described in
this data sheet is intended for NFPA 13
sprinkler systems, it may be used for NFPA
13D or 13R residential sprinkler systems,
where a test orifice of 5.6K (80K) is accept-
able.
The variety of sizes and grooved end
connections allow cost effective and
easy transition to check valves, control
valves, and system piping. The Riser
Manifolds may be installed in either the
horizontal (flow switch on top) or verti-
cal (flow going up) for both single
sprinkler rises and floor control in high
rises,
WARNING
The Riser Manifolds described herein
must be installed and maintained in
compliance with this document, as
well as with the applicable standards
of the National Fire Protection Asso-
ciation, in addition to the standards of
any other authorities having jurisdic-
tion. Failure to do so may impair the
performance of these devices.
The owner is responsible for maintain-
ing their fire protection system and de-
vices in proper operating condition.
The installing contractor or sprinkler
manufacturer should be contacted
with any questions.

ductile iron, whereas the manifold
body of the Figure 13 is cast iron. The
two assemblies are completely inter-
changeable in function, application,
and end-to-end laying length.
Finish
Red painted.
Installation
The Riser Manifolds may be installed
in either the horizontal (flow switch on
top) or vertical (flow going up). The
inlet of the Riser Manifold may be di-
rectly connected to a shut-off control
valve,
NOTES
Where applicable pipe thread sealant
is to be applied sparingly. Use of a
non -hardening pipe thread sealant is
recommended.
Never remove any piping component
nor correct or modify any piping defi-
ciencies without first depressurizing
and draining the system.
Step 1. Install the manifold body with
the flow arrow pointing in the down-
stream position using threaded con-
nections and/or listed mechanical
grooved connections, as applicable
Step 2. Connect the drain line, and
then close the drain valve.
Step 3. Refer to Figure 3 for wiring
guidance. All wiring must be per-
formed in accordance with the Author-
ity Having Jurisdiction and/or the Na-
tional Electrical Code,
Step 4. Refer to Figure 4 for optional
relief valve.
Step 5. Place the system in service by
filling the system with water. When fill-
ing the system, partially open the con-
trol valve to slowly fill the system. Fill-
ing the system slowly will help avoid
damaging the waterflow alarm switch
After the system is fully pressurized,
completely open the control valve.
Step 6. Secure all supply valves
open.
