Provide a handicap parking space adjacent to building #2. The closest handicap parking spaces are located across a vehicle access aisle. 2. Please provide a Flood Elevation Certificate as required in the 2000 International Building Code (IBC) Section 1612.5. 3. A soil investigation report that was conducted for the Jack -In -The Box restaurant (located on the same piece of property) identified a layer of fill mixed with garbage covering the building lot. Please provide us with a soils report for any areas where new footings are to be placed. Will you be excavating to remove these materials? Where footings are to be placed on structural fill, please provide a report as per the 2000 IBC Section 1803.4. 4. The plans identify that the mechanical, plumbing and electrical shall be "design build". Will the mechanical system require roof top units? If so, the mechanical roof unit weights need to be included in the structural design. Mechanical and electrical component placement must meet the design criteria of the 2000 IBC Section 1621. When components are identified, please supply the necessary information as per the 2000 IBC Section 1621.3.5. 5. The plans and specifications identify special inspections required for masonry, field welding, bolting and structural fill. The concrete is identified as 3000 psi and therefore should also be inspected by special inspectors. We need to meet with the inspection company representative to go over special inspections prior to construction. 6. The energy calculations that have been provided are for the Idaho Falls area. Our climate zone is different than Idaho Falls. The energy calculations should be for climate zone 16 of the 2000 International Energy Conservation Code. When the mechanical and electrical design is complete, another set of calculations will be required for the systems. We need envelope compliance plans a.s.a.p. 7. The Fire Department has reviewed the plans. I have attached a copy of the report. Please provide the necessary information they have requested. These items need to be addressed before issuance of a building permit. Please let me know if you have any questions. I can be reached during the day at 359-3020 Ext. 324. WATER SUPPLY: This proposed project shows two large square footage structures spaced approximately 350 feet apart with several smaller buildings on the site. Based on conversations with the developers both of the larger structures are to be sprinklered. Plans do not show what construction type the new building shall be. Please indicate the type of construction for a more accurate review. The number of hydrants required may change depending upon type of construction. Currently, the size of structures and space between buildings require the west building to have a minimum of four hydrants within 300 feet. Currently it has one. The existing building has the correct number of hydrants. -Additionally, a six-inch main line to the hydrants will not be capable of supplying the required amount of water. 2. ACCESS: Areas adjacent to buildings shall have curbs painted red, maintained, and signed "No Parking Fire Lane". Additional plans are required to complete an accurate plan review of this project. If there are an questions please feel free to contact me. r Chris Huskinson Fire Inspector
