I have reviewed the drawings f8I
buildin #1 d the site plan of the Teton River Village
(identified on the plans as American Family Entertainment Center) and have identified the
following deficiencies:
1. Provide a handicap parking space adjacent to building #2. The closest handicap
parking spaces are located across a vehicle access aisle.
2. Please provide a Flood Elevation Certificate as required in the 2000 International
Building Code (IBC) Section 1612.5.
3. The geotechnical investigation for this site (included in the project Manual dated
July 14, 2003) describes the site as being located in Seismic Zone 2B. This zone is
from the 1997 Uniform Building Code (UBC). Rexburg is located in Seismic Zone
3 in the UBC. The structural design is consistent with Chapter 16 of the
International Building Code. My concern is that the Geotechnical firm may have
made recommendations based on this information. Provide me with a letter from
this firm addressing the discrepancy. Design should be applicable to the 2000 IBC.
4. The envelope compliance energy calculations for that have been provided are for
the Idaho Falls area. Our climate zone is different than Idaho Falls. The energy
calculations should be for climate zone 16 of the 2000 International Energy
Conservation Code.
5. The Fire Department has reviewed the plans. I have attached a copy of the report.
Please provide the necessary information they have requested.
These items need to be addressed before issuance of a building permit. Please let me know
if you have any questions. I can be reached during the day at 359-3020 Ext. 324.
Sincerely,
Val Christensen
