This letter is to formally agree as to checking the party walls behind the bathtubs. I agree
with you that using the '/4" drill bit marked a 1" and drilling the walls above the tub
enclosures in 2 apartments on each floor will give us a good indication on the rest of the
apartments. The findings will give us an indication of the rest of the building and a
decision can be made from that point as to what needs to be done from there, if anything.
As to the Life Safety Inspection conducted on 13 May the only problem found was the
Fire Extinguishers were to small. According to the letter the extinguishers do not have to
be replaced until their next 6 year inspection which is marked on the extinguisher. It
would be in your best interest to replace them as soon as possible but not required.
