Box 51977 Idaho Falls, Idaho 83405 Attn: Mr. Karst Re: Colonial House Apartments Dear Mr. Karst STATE OF IDAHO www.cj.rexburg.Id.us P.O. Box 280 12 North Center Street Rexburg, Idaho 83440 Phone (208) 359-3020 Fax (208) 359-3022 e-mail rexburg@ci.rexburg.id.us This letter is to formally agree as to checking the party walls behind the bathtubs. I agree with you that using the '/4" drill bit marked a 1" and drilling the walls above the tub enclosures in 2 apartments on each floor will give us a good indication on the rest of the apartments. The findings will give us an indication of the rest of the building and a decision can be made from that point as to what needs to be done from there, if anything. As to the Life Safety Inspection conducted on 13 May the only problem found was the Fire Extinguishers were to small. According to the letter the extinguishers do not have to be replaced until their next 6 year inspection which is marked on the extinguisher. It would be in your best interest to replace them as soon as possible but not required. Thank you for your help in resolving problem. Sincerely, Jon Berry City Building Inspector CC: File Val Christensen
