With a forecast of a warmer and drier winter, we need to be ready to seed every suitable storm that comes our way! Our 20e cloud seeding season (2015-2016) started November 1st. We really appreciate the support you've given our project in the past. We hope that you will continue to support our project this season. After a very dry winter last year, an early growing season, and summer demand on our reservoirs, the Upper Snake fuver water storage system is only at 33 percent of full. We depend on snow melt to fiIl those reseryoirs- Yet, meteorologists are predicting a warmer and dryer than normal winter. Cloud seeding can help Mother Nature drop more snow than she would otherwise. Our cloud seeding collaboration produces results! Over the last 18 years our efforts have resulted in an average of 1.24o/o more snow in Clark County and Island Park, and 9.09Vo in the east side of the Upper Snake Valley (Tetons, Big Holes, Snake River, & south) - as per an evaluation completed by North American Weather Consultants, lnc. In the last two years, thanlrs to ldaho Power's new state-of-the-art high resolution weather model, we can convert those percentages into actual acre/feet of water! The model shows that our seeding efforts, over the last two years, have produced an average increase of 1251000 acre/feet of additional snowpack above Milner dam. That's nearly 1% Ilenry's Lakes worth of o'extra" water! With storage water selling for $20lacre foot the value of this "extra" water is $2.5 million dollars annually' Your donation supports the operation of High Country's 25 marrually operated generators. Those generators are an important and necessary component of the overall project. They work in conjunction with Idaho Power's 25 remote generators and aircraft (new this year) to produce more snow.
