HomeMy WebLinkAboutRecommendationsRecommendations: Times and incident numbers be sent over from dispatch. No longer kept tract of in Station. Fat Pots may be used as the bridge for auto population of the ESO and Fire House. (According to meeting with Colin last year). The live in student program at the satellite stations. This will resolve the question of: “Is there anyone at the satellite stations to staff the dispatched resource?”. The students will be managed by one full timer that will be assigned the satellite station. This may require the hiring of additional personnel. To notify dispatch of out of service units: This will occur at radio checks. The ambulances will be taken out of service, starting with the last ambulance unit (ambulance 6). The fire apparatus units will be taken out of service as needed, according to their unit number. If a unit becomes out of service at an unscheduled time, they will report this information to dispatch. Revisit the transports being dispatched and requested through dispatch. Active 911 will allow us to know who is responding to the satellite stations. Issue radio to key personnel or personnel from satellite stations (this lets us know that they are responding before they get to the station). Methods to tie dispatch to the Fire Department: Training from line guys. Mandatory ride along, per year. Annual Dispatcher/FD breakfasts. We offer the CPR education and certification for the Dispatchers (possible in preparation for EMD training). This will assist with them providing pre-arrival instructions o CPR. Issues to resolve How do we guarantee that a unit from the satellite stations are actually staffed? Allow for a substitution with a unit from station #1, if no response heard from satellite station. There will also be an allowance for sending units based upon available personnel (i.e. sending a tender from station #2 instead of Station #1, when only one responder is available).
