Public Comment: NONE Presentations: NONE Mayor Woodland presented Council Member Stout, Council Member Egbert, and Council Member Erickson “Above and Beyond Certificates” in order to recognize them for their service to the City of Rexburg. The MYAB will meet tonight at 4:00 p.m.; The Christmas Carol program is doing very well. Council President Mann and Mayor Woodland praised RonaLee Flansburg for her work with city events at the Tabernacle and the Romance Theatre. E. Approve the low bid for Water Well #7 from High Plains Drilling – Staff City Engineer Keith Davidson presented the proposal to drill a new water well. There were two bidders, Denning Well Drilling and High Plains Drilling. Denning Well Drilling was at $236,980.00 and High Plains Drilling was at $200,250.00. The engineers estimate was $200,000, City Council approved the award to High Plains Drilling. The drilling of the well will begin as soon as they are awarded. They expect the drilling to be 400ft deep. Council Member Sutherland moved to approve the low bid for Water Well #7 from High Plains Drilling for $200,250.00; Council President Mann seconded the motion; Discussion: Engineer Davidson said the new well will allow for more flexibility in the water distribution management. The well will be 400 feet deep. Mayor Woodland indicated that it is a good aquifer for the City of Rexburg; Mayor Woodland asked for a vote: Those voting aye Those voting nay Council President Mann None Council Member Erickson Council Member Sutherland Council Member Stout The motion carried. Council Member Erickson said the new Council Members will fill in the void. He said you get more out of the service than you put into it. Council Member Stout said he will miss the association with the City Council. Consent Calendar: The consent calendar includes items which require formal City Council action, however they are typically routine or not of great controversy. Individual Council members may ask that any specific item be removed from the consent calendar for discussion in greater detail. Explanatory information is included in the City Council’s agenda packet regarding these items. Minutes: December 07, 2011 meeting Approve the City of Rexburg Bills Council Member Erickson moved to approve the Consent Calendar consisting of the city bills and City Council meeting on December 07, 2011; Council Member Stout seconded the motion; Mayor Woodland asked for a vote: Those voting aye Those voting nay Council President Mann None Council Member Erickson Council Member Sutherland Council Member Stout The motion carried.
