HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE NO. 226 ANNUAL APPROPRIATION 1919(Dw CITY O f REXBURG Ammcau Fondly Cnnr rnunity ORDINANCE NO. 226 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION OF THE CITY OF REXBURG IN THE STATE OF IDAHO, AND FOR THE APPROPRIATION TO THE SEVERAL FUNDS AND PURPOSES DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 1919, AND PROVIDING THE NUMBER OF MILLS ON THE DOLLAR LEVIED AND APPROPRIATED FOR CASH OF SAID FUNDS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REXBURG; SECTION I — That the revenue of the city of Rexburg in the State of Idaho for the fiscal year 1919, derived from the taxes levied for said year are hereby appropriated to the several funds and in several amounts following, to -wit; Road & Bridge $10,000.00 Interest on City Bonds $ 4,500.00 Balance in General Expense Fund $12,500.00 SECTION II — There is hereby levied on the taxable property in the city of Rexburg in the State of Idaho, for the fiscal year 1919, for the purpose of the purposes of the several funds, taxes as follows: General Levy — 15 mills on the dollar Levy for Interest on City Bonds and Sinking fund — 3 mills on the dollar On the assessed valuation of said property for the year 1919. And the City Treasurer of the City of Rexburg is hereby authorized and directed to apportion all money received on account of said taxes to the said funds upon said basis. SECTION III — From the receipts of the Waterworks system of the City of Rexburg, for the fiscal year 1919, and from the money now on hand in the Waterworks fund of said city after deducting the funds there is hereby appropriated sufficient funds for the operation and maintenance for said waterworks system. SECTION IV — From the receipts of the waterworks system of the city of Rexburg, for the fiscal year 1919, and from the money now in the waterworks fund of said city after deducting therefrom the money appropriated in Section 3, the mayor and council may in their discretion, transfer to the General Expense Fund, such sums of money as may be required in any of the aforesaid funds for the successful operation or conducting of the business of the city of Rexburg and as the needs of said funds or any of them may require from time to time. SECTION V — From the receipts of the ditch system of the city of Rexburg for the fiscal year 1919, and from the money now on hand in ditch fund of said city there is hereby appropriated sufficient funds for operation and maintenance for said ditch system. SECTION VI — All money received from the sale of lots in the city cemetery, sexton fees, and all money received from the care of lots in city cemetery is hereby appropriated to the cemetery fund. SECTION VII — All money received from the road fee and county road & bridge taxes during the fiscal year 1919, is hereby appropriated to the Road & Bridge Fund. SECTION VIII — All the revenues of the city of Rexburg for the fiscal year 1919, derived from all sources of any kind, except revenues arising from taxes levied and the receipts from the waterworks system of the city of Rexburg and the money now on hand from the ditch system of said city, and the money now on hand in the ditch fund of said city, moneys received from the sale of cemetery lots, sexton fees, and care of cemetery lots and all money reserved from the Road Poll Taxes and County Road & Bridge Tax during the fiscal year 1919, are hereby appropriated to the General Expense Fund of said city. SECTION IX — This ordinance shall take effect an be in full force from and after its passage, adoption and approval, and upon its publication in one issue of the Rexburg Journal a weekly newspaper printed and published in the city of Rexburg, State of Idaho and having a general circulation therein. GARNER City Clerk AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION STATE OF IDAHO COUNTY OF MADISON I, Arthur Porter Jr. do solemnly swear that I am of lawful age and am the publisher of the Rexburg Journal, a weekly newspaper printed and published at Rexburg, Idaho and have personal knowledge of all advertisements published therein that the notice of which the annexed is a printed copy was published once a week in said newspaper as follows: Commencing with the issue of Friday the 291' day of August, 1919 and ending with the issue of Friday the _ day of 1919 in the regular and entire issue of every number of said paper in said issues that the notice was published in the newspaper proper and not in a supplement.
