AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES IN THE CITY OFREXBURG, IDAHO, AND REPEALING
ORDINANCES NO. 157, 195, 209, 299, 340, AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH: PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO:
SECTION I: FIRE DISTRICTS: For the purpose of this ordinance, the entire City of
Rexburg is hereby declared to be and is hereby established into a fire district and said fire
district shall be known and designated as Fire Zone numbers One, Two and Three and shall
include all the territory within the corporate Limits.
SECTION II: Fire Zone Number One: The boundaries of Fire Zone Number One are
hereby established as follows:
First South Street to First North Street between Second West Street and Second East
Street, also Lots 2 and 3 of Block 35, of the City of Rexburg, Idaho.
SECTION III: FIRE ZONE NUMBER TWO: The boundaries of Fire Zone Number Two are
hereby established as follows:
First East Street from the Northeast corner of Block 50 of the City of Rexburg,
Idaho, to the Southeast corner of Block 4 of the Rigby Addition to the City of Rexburg, Idaho;
Third South Street from the Southeast corner of Block 4, Rigby Addition to the City of Rexburg,
Idaho, to the intersection of Third South Street and Second East Street; Second East Street
from said intersection to the intersection of Second East Street and Fourth South Street;
West Fourth South Street from said intersection to the intersection of West Fourth South Street
and Second West Street; Second West Street from said intersection to the intersection of
Second West Street and Fifth South Street; Fifth South Street from said intersection to
the intersection of Fifth South Street and South Fifth West Street; South Fifth West Street
from said intersection to the City limits; thence West to the Union Pacific Railroad right-
of-way; thence Northeasterly along said railroad right -of -way to the intersection of
South Fifth West Street and West Fourth South Street; South Fifth West Street to the North-
west corner of Lot 3, Block 2, Klingler Addition to the City of Rexburg, Idaho; thence East
1520 Feet, more or less, to Third West Street; thence North on Third West Street to the
intersection of Third West Street and Second South Street; thence West on Second South Street
from said intersection to the intersection of South Fifth West Street; thence North from
said intersection on South Fifth West Street to its intersection with First South Street;
thence East on First South Street to its intersection with Third West Street; thence North
on Third West Street to its intersection with Second West Street; thence North on Second West
North Street to its intersection with Second West Street; thence North on Second West
Street from said intersection to the City Limits; thence East along the City Limit Boundary
line to the East side of the Union Pacific railroad right -of -way; thence Northeasterly along
said railroad right -of -way to the South bank of the Teton River; thence following the South
Bank of the Teton River a distance of 1850 feet, more or less; thence South to the middle
of First North Street.
SECTION IV: FIRE ZONE NUMBER THREE: All the remaining territory of the City of Rexburg,
Idaho, not covered in Fire Zones Number One and Two shall be, and is hereby
established as Fire Zone Number Three.
SECTION V: CHANGES IN BOUNDARIES: Whenever, in accordance with the provisions made in
the boundaries of zones under the zoning Ordinance, such changes affect the Fire Zones
as established herein, such changes shall be likewise reflected in the Fire Zones as
established herein.
SECTION VI: REPEAL OF ORDINANCES: Ordinances numbered 157, 195, 209, 299, 340,
and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION VII: EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
PASSED BY the City Council of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, this 19th day of
September, 1973.
