AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REXBURG,
IDAHO, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1971, AND APPROPRIATING TO THE SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS,
OFFICES AND FUNDS OF THE SAID CITY GOVERNMENT FROM THE REVENUE DERIVED FROM TAXES
LEVIED FOR SAID YEAR, AND ALL OTHER SOURCES, SUCH SUMS AS MAY BE NECESSARY OR DEEMED
NECESSARY BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL TO DEFRAY THE EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF SAIL
CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1971.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REXBURG., IDAHO:
Section I. This ordinance shall be and is hereby termed the annual appropriation
ordinance of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, for the fiscal year 1971.
Section 2. The revenue of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, for the fiscal year 1971,..
derived from taxes levied for said year, and all other sources, in the total amount of
$570,166.00 as shown by the Amended Budget of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, adopted and approved
by the City Council, March 31, 1971, and duly printed and published as provided by law, is
hereby appropriated to the several funds and purposes which are hereby declared to be necessary
to defray all necessary expenses and liabilities of said City as shown by said Amended Budget
as hereinafter set forth. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to apportion
all moneys received on account of taxes on property within the City of Rexburg, Idaho, and
from all other sources to the several funds as shown in said Budget and as hereinafter set
forth.
A. ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT - GENERAL EXPENSE FUND: From moneys received on account
of taxes levied and other available sources, there is hereby appropriated to the General
Expense Fund, Administrative Departments, the sum of $84,950.00.
B. PUBLIC SAFETY: From the moneys received on account of taxes levied and other
available sources, there is hereby appropriated to the public safety (Police Department,
Fire Department, County Nurse, and Inspection Department) the sum of $140,469.00.
C. CITY SERVICES:
(1) From money received on account of taxes levied and other available sources, there
is hereby appropriated to the Street Department of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, for maintenance
and improvement of public streets and alleys, the sum of $134,950.00.
(2) From the revenue derived from culinary water sales, water meters and supplies
and from money received on account of taxes levied and other available sources, there is
hereby appropriated to the water and irrigation departments, the sum of $67,420.00 to operate
maintain and extend said water services.
(3) From revenue derived from garbage service charges, money received on account of
taxes levied and other available sources, there is appropriated for garbage removal and dump
ground labor and expense, the sum of $19,860.00
D. PARKS AND RECREATION:
(1) From all moneys received . on account of taxes levied and other available sources,
there is hereby appropriated for the parks, recreation and airport the sum of $34,375.00.
(2) From revenue derived from charges made for the use of the swimming pool, from
money received and account of taxes levied and other available sources, there is hereby
appropriated to the Parks and Recreation for the operation and maintenance . of the swimming
pool the sum of $11,000.00.
E. BOND AND INTEREST FUND: From moneys received on account of taxes levied, water
and sewer service charges, and other available sources, there is hereby appropriated from
the payment of water and sewer revenue bonds and interest, the sum of $22,803.00 and for
the payment of interest on outstanding general obligiation bonds of said City and the payment
of maturing instalments on such indebtedness, the sum of $54,339.00.
F. All other revenue of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, received during the fiscal year
1971, not hereby otherwise appropriated to the General Expense Fund of the City.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage and publication as required by law.
