HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE NO. 512 VIOLATIONS OF CITY ORDINANCES PENALTIESORDINANCE NO. 512 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO, PRESCRIBING PENALTIES AND /OR IMPRISONMENT FOR VIOLATIONS OF CITY ORDINANCES: DECLARING VIOLATION OF ANY ORDINANCE A MISDEMEANOR AND PROVIDING THAT FAILURE TO CEASE OR ABATE SHALL CONSTITUTE A CON- TINUING VIOLATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, . IDAHO: Section 1. Any person convicted of a violation of any ordinance of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, may be fined in a sum not to exceed three hundred dollars ($300.00) for any offense and such person may by confined in jail for a period of not more than thirty (30) days.. Either or both such fine and imprisonment may be imposed; and in addition thereto, any person so convicted shall pay such costs as the Court may assess. Section 2. Any person convicted of driving motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or anarcotic drug may be fined in an amount not to exceed three hundred dollars ($300.00) and may be confined in jail for not more than thirty (30) days or both such fine and imprisonment. Section 3. The penalty herein provided shall be applicable to every ordinance of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, the same as though it were a part of each and every separate ordinance. Any person convicted of a violation of any ordinance of this city shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. Aseparate offense shall be deemed committed for each day during on or which a violation occurs or continues. Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect the 8th day. of January, 1971, 12:01 a.m. Passed by the Council January 6, 1971 Approved by the President of the Council acting in the Mayor's absence, ?January 6, 1971.
