HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE NO. 511 IDAHO MOTOR VEHICLE LAWSORDINANCE NO. 511 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO, DECLARING INTENT, ADOPTING AND ENACTING THE IDAHO MOTOR VEHICLE LAWS, AS THE LAWS OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, - IDAHO, FOR GOVERNING AID REGULATING THE USE OF ALL STREETS AND PUBLIC THOROUGH- FARES OF THE CITY, PROVIDING THAT THREE COPIES OF THE IDAHO MOTOR VEHCILE LAWS BE ON FILE AT ALL TIMES IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, AND FIXING THE EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO: Section 1. It is hereby declared to be the intent of the governing body of the city c Rexburg, Idaho, to aid and assist by whatever means possible, for the utmost consistency in traffic regulation among and between agencies of Idaho having such jurisdiction. Toward that end, adoption of the Idaho Motor Vehicle Laws by the Cities of Idaho is a necessary means of assuring maximum uniformity within the State. Section 2. There is hereby adopted for the purpose of establishing rules and regulati for the use of all streets and public thoroughfares of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, that certain code, identified as the 1969 revised edition, Idaho Motor Vehicle Laws, more particularly Title 49, . Idaho Code, published by the Department of Law Enforcement, and as the same may here- after be revised by the Idaho Legis.lature, or amended by the governing body, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as an ordinance of the city as fully as though set forth at length herein. Section 3. Three copies of the Idaho Motor Vehicle Laws, together with any revisions or amendments, duly certified by the City Clerk, shall be kept on file in her office for use and examination of and by the public. Section 4. All ordinances of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, in conflict herewith, as of the effective date and time of this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed. Provided, it is not the intent to repeal the following ordinances and parts of ordinances: Section 2,6,7,9,10, 11, and 12 of Ordinance 482; Ordinance Nos. 355,407,: ?and 447. Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect January 8, at 12:01 a.m. Passed by the Council., January 6, 1971.
