We find no code requirement for crawl space draft stop construction. UBC 708.1 does notinclude this space as one requiring a drafutop. The irawl space is not a "usable space". Finally, since we are sprinkling the attic area per NFPA 13, 708.3.1 .2.2 exception states that we do not require any draft stop construction (ie 100 feei horizontal and. 9000 sf area), so I will make the construction of the draftstop/access door a contractor option.
