Chief ChildlDale Pickering - Counfy Fire Hazard:
Information was submitted showing the occurrence of fire during dry, hot and humid weather through
the past five years. He showed a prediction sheet the Forest Service has provided and a rain prediction
for August. The prediction is to continue to have above normal temperatures and winds, but there
haven't been grass fires this year in Madison County. Jefferson County has posted a bum ban, but
Dale Pickering recommends leaving it for now and doesn't see significant changes in fire danger thisyear.
Brent McFadden - Benson subdivision Review & crIP - RE: Detached Garages:
Brent would like to count the road as set aside to allow the Hernand ez family to build a home on
their lot. The two acre per lot rule was put in place to control density. If we do not count the
road as set aside, this home will be legal on this property. The right of way has gone from 60 to
50 feet. A home on the set aside will make someone responsible for the weeds. Commissioner
Ricks recused himself from the discussion and decision . The subdivision was approved prior to
the ordinance being changed making it clear that the road does not count on the set aside.
Commissioner Ricks returned as Chairman. Brent McFadden brought a plat on the Benson
Subdivision for Commissioners to review. Troy will review plats. We need to change how our
ordinance is written or they need to change the covenants - they can't co-exist.
Conditional Use Permit for a Business In The Impact Area:
Todd Steiner would like to run a home business (cabinet shop). Commissioner Weber made a
motion to approve the findings of fact for Todd Steiner. Commissioner Smith seconded and
voting was unanimous.
City Planning & Zoning - Reappoint Dan Hannah As The County Representative For City
Pfanning & Zoningl.
Commissioner Smith made a motion to retain Dan Hannah to the City Planning and Zoning

Roscoe Orton - Update On Life, Vision And Dental fnsurances:Roscoe and Gary presented dental history and renewal rates. The family rate is just catching upto the same as what the County was paying in 2007 with Blue Cross dental. The recommendationfrom orton lnsurance was to stay wlth belta Dental. They encourage employees to run thenumbers and make sure the coverage is worth the money they"pay in pretiums. '
Roscoe will meet with emproyees in September to discuss rife insurance.
The vision plan has very high participation county wide.
Jeff Cook - Medical fnsurance:
Jeff presented renewal rates and explained the implications. He suggested raising the deductibleto $3,000. Jeff discussed other options with the commissioners.
shauna Ringel & Anita Knapp - Report on Red cross vorunteer work:Shauna was at the Charlotte fire in Pocatello and then went to Montana to the wild fires whileAnita went to Colorado Springs fires near Loveland. She had 24 hours' notice before boarding aplane' They both expressed emotional accounts of experiences while volunteering for the Red
