HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1997-10 Termination of Disasterh RESOLUTION NO. 97.10 TERMINATION OF DISASTER WHEREAS, on Tuesday, October 7, 1997, the Rexburg City Police were notified of the presence of explosive materials, volatile chemicals, and toxic materials discovered in and around a residence located at 125 North 1st East, Rexburg, Idaho; and WHEREAS, it was determined that a local disaster as defined in Idaho Code, Sections 46-1002 and 46-1011 existed as a result of the aforementioned substances and there proximity to residential structures; and WHEREAS, on Wednesday, October 11, 1997, the Mayor of the City of Rexburg signed Resolution 97.10 formally declaring a disaster, and authorizing the measures taken, as well as continued action, by the Rexburg City Police Department in conjunction with the Rexburg City Fire Department in taking emergency measures to insure the safety of the community; and WHEREAS, as of this 14th day of October, 1997, the circumstances which precipitated the local disaster emergency have been controlled, and resolved to the satisfaction of the agencies involved; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved and declared by Mayor Nile L. Boyle, of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, as follows: 1. The disaster emergency which commenced on October 7, 1997 within the City of Rexburg, created by the discovery of explosive materials, volatile chemicals and other toxic substances, has been resolved; and 2. The activation and response of local disaster emergency agencies is no longer necessary to prevent imminent peril; and 3. The local emergency disaster is hereby declared terminated. Adopted this 141 day of October, 1997 by the Mayor of the City of Rexburg. . . Mayor City Clerk ·
