PUBLIC NOTICE ON NONDISCRIMINATION
Resolution 2009- 04
WHEREAS, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (as amended) prohibits discrimination on the
basis of handicap in federally assisted programs and activities; and
WHEREAS, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) enacted on July 26, 1990, provides
comprehensive civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities in the areas of employment,
public accommodations, State and local government services, and telecommunications; and
WHEREAS, most programs and activities of State and local governments are recipients of
Federal financial assistance from one or more Federal funding agencies; and,
WHEREAS, an internal grievance procedure is available to resolve complaints, questions,
concerns, or requests for additional information regarding 504/ADA by forwarding to:

NOW, THEREFORE, by resolution duly adopted The City of Rexburg reaffirms the city's
policy not to discriminate on the basis of disability in the admission to, access to, or operations
of programs, services, or activities; including allowing qualified individuals who need accessible
communication aids and services or other accommodations to participate in programs and
activities. These individuals are invited to make their needs and preferences known to the
504/ADA Coordinator; allowing at least three to five day's advance notice so the city can
adequately meet their needs.
