AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION BILL OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO, FOR THE
CALENDAR YEAR 1964, LEVYING TAXES FOR GENERAL REVENUE PURPOSES OF SAID CITY AND FOR INTEREST
ON THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS AND FOR SINKING FUND, AND APPROPRIATING TO THE SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS,
OFFICES AND FUNDS OF THE SAID CITY GOVERNMENT SUCH SUMS AS MAY BE NECESSARY OR DEEMED NECESSARY
BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL TO DEFRAY THE EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF SAID CITY FOR THE
CALENDAR YEAR 1.964.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO:
SECTION I: This Ordinance shall be and is hereby termed the annual appropriation bill of the
City of Rexburg, Idaho, for the calendar year 1.964.
SECTION II: There is hereby levied upon all taxable property within the city limits of the Cit.
of Rexburg, and subject to taxation for the city purposes of said City Government at the rates
following:
For general revenue purposes twenty -five (25) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For interest on outstanding bonds of the city, and for sinking fund to pay maturing
installments of such bonds, seven (7) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For interest on Municipal Park Bonds of the City, and for sinking fund to pay maturing
installments of such bonds, two (2) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For Police Retirement purposes one and one -half (1.50) mills on each dollar of assessed
valuation.
For Municipal Park purposes Four (4) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For Street Lighting purposes three (3) mills on each dollar assessed valuation.
SECTION III: The City Clerk is hereby empowered and directed to certify the foregoing to the
proper officers of Madison County, Idaho, for entry upon the tasirolls of said County for the
collection in the manner provided by law.
SECTION IV: The City Treasurer is hereby empowered and directed apportion the moneys
received on account of tastes hereby levied, and from all other sources, to the several
funds for which levies are made and to which moneys are appropriated as in this ordinance
provided.
SECTION V: The revenue for the City of Rexburg for the calendar year 1964 from all sources
received are hereby appropriated to the several funds and purposes which are hereby declared
to be necessary for such purposes shown by the Budget of the City heretofore adopted for
said calendar year, respectively, as follows, to -wit:
A. ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT - GENERAL EXPENSE FUND: From moneys received on account of
taxes levied and other available sources, there is hereby appropriated to the General Expense
Fund Administrative Departments and Sundries, the sum of $32,982.48.
B. LAW ENFORCEMENT: From the moneys received on account of taxes levied and other available
sources, there is hereby appropriated to the Law Enforcement, the sum of $30,000.00.
C. FIRE DEPARTMENT: From the moneys recevied on account of taxes levied and other available
sources, there is hereby appropriated to the Fire Department the sum of $18,900.00.
D. WATERWORI:S DEPARTMENT: From the revenue derived from the waterworks system of the City
during the calendar year 1964, the moneys now on hand in the waterworks fund, and other revenue
available, there is hereby appropriated the sum necessary to defray the expenses of operating
and maintaining said system during the calendar year 1964, and from such revenue, and for
said purposes, there is hereby appropriated the sum of $33,200.00.
E. IRRIGATION DEPARTMENT: All moneys received on account of the irrigation system of the
City of Rexburg, and distribution of water thereby to the inhabitants of the City, are
hereby appropriated to the City Ditch Fund for the payment of salaries, wages and other
necessary expense of operation and maintenance of said irrigation system, there is hereby
appropriated to the Ditch Fund for such purposes from moneys not otherwise appropriated, the
sum of $3,000.00.
STREETS AND ALLEYS: From the moneys received on account of taxes levied thereof and other
revenues available, there is hereby appropriated to the Streets Departmentt of the City of
Rexburg, for maintenance and improvement of public street and alleys, the som of $48,000.00.
G. PARKS DEPARTMENT: From moneys received on account of taxes levied thereof and other
revenues available, there is hereby appropriated to the Parks Department of the City of R.exbur
for maintenance and improvement of Parks, the sum of $9,500.00.
