Comment #1 — Upper balcony units do not have details showing the cantilever details for the 2x8 floor joists. Will the joists span the extra space. Resolution: There is a balcony on some units as shown on the elevation drawings. These balconies extend 4' -6" out from the face of the building. The 2x8 joists extend back into the building more than twice that distance. This assures that the cantilever joists are sufficiently supported for uplift and the joists are not over stressed at the cantilever. Comment #2 — The Shear walls are shown as 2 different types on the plans ( #1 and #7) but the specifications only have one specified. Is there a difference as shown on the plans or are they both considered the same as the specs? Resolution: There is only one type of shear wall. The numbers will be stricken from the drawings. Comment #3 — Simpson PAHD -42 hold -downs are specified on the plans but are also "optional see engineering ". There is no mention of these in the calculations. Are these to be used or not? Resolution: Yes, these hold downs are to be used. The drawings show PAHO -42. This should be PAHD -42. Optional has been stricken from the drawings. Comment #4 — There is a question of support under the MB4b beam of the "A" unit at the end by the stair and also the MB3 beam of the "B" unit at the same end. Can the beam (BB1) under the main floor support the load of the 1 and 2nd floors at approximately 3 and 6 feet from the wall? 1 Resolution: Yes — see attached additional calculations.
