Upon review of the drawings submitted the following items need to be addressed:
1. Apartment requires smoke detectors in addition to all common areas (office and
exercise room). Heat detectors and visual signaling devices also required in common
areas. Is this building tied into the alarm systems on either apartment building?
2. Fire extinguishers not shown. Please provide extinguishers in apartments, office, and
exercise area.

I have reviewed the plans for the Nauvoo II Manager's Apartment and have
identified the following discrepancies:

1. Provide updated site plan. Include accessibility features.
2. On page A -3, paragraph IV, sentence K the snow load is listed at 30 lb /sq. ft.
when it should be listed as 35 lb /sq. ft.
3. Identify either a firewall or a draft stop in attic between units.
4. Describe HVAC system.
5. Walls between office and exercise room must be constructed as 1 -hr. walls.
Floor /ceilings must meet requirements for 1 -hr. separation. Please identify
how this is to be accomplished.
6. Manager's apartment is not accessible.
7. Fans are required in bathrooms.
8. Identify maximum riser height of 8" for private stairs.
9. The Fire Department has not reviewed the drawings at this time. We need
another complete set of plans.
Please provide me with 2 new copies of the corrected plans. If you have any
questions, please give me a call at 359 -3020 ext. 324.

Item 1: Information to be provided by project civil engineer. This work is not in our contract.
Item 2: Our Sheet A -3 of 6, Architect Seal dated April 3, 2002, Paragraph C, Live Loads, 1.
Roof (snow load) 35 psf.
Item 3: Drawing attachment indicates location of the required draft stop. Re -issue of Sheet A -1
will be mailed to you.
Item 4: HVAC is a design/build system outside of our contract.
Item 5: The facility has been designed with 1 -hour fire construction for Walls and Floor /Ceiling
Assembly, Wall Assembly- Detail G /A5, Floor /Ceiling Assembly- Detail A/A5.
Nauvoo II - Manager's Apartment
Item 6: Based on the 1997 UBC, apartment configuration is exempt from accessibility
requirements, paragraph 1103.1.9.3, exception 3.
Item 7: Fans in the bathrooms are a part of the mechanical design/build.
Item 8: Drawing attachment indicates the stair riser height.
