Random on -site inspections have revealed that all directions in the reports have been incorporated into the work by the contractor. The Hot Water Heater was re- located from it's temporary location in the elevator pit, to the permanent location in the Mechanical Room of the first floor. The water heater was properly plumbed and provided with seismic bracing. Periodic inspections /observations will continue until completion. Talked with mason Frank Stacey. Met with Harold Harris on Wednesday. Railings for front entry stairs are to be delivered by Friday and he will proceed with installation. Mason was finishing last courses of face brick Wednesday afternoon. The extended vestibule roof was being framed and the scaffolding will be left in place for use by carpenters and Robison Roofing to complete the work on vestibule and elevator shaft roof. Wall of elevator equipment room is framed and steel door frame is set - ready for sheetrock. Plumber will relocate water heater from elevator equipment room in the next few days. Harold thought he would be complete with all but elevator installation in the next 2 to 3 weeks. He is trying to get elevator installers on the job by 21 October. Harold notified JRW that he had hit bedrock and needed to go down an additional 2 -1/2 feet in the area for the new elevator. JRW photographed the excavation site and directed Harold to move forward with removing the rock with a hoe ram. He was instructed to keep track of the equipment and man hours to document a change order.
