The 1997 Uniform Building Code, which was in effect for your building, 4V allows a maximum of a 180 A break in construction before the permit is seHsidlcrcd expired. You are over that limit and are required to obtain another permit, which is now under the 2000 International Residential Code and the International Energy Conservation Code, which in turn will require another Plan Review. Thank You 12 June 2003 Canyon Investments LLC 107 N 3900 E Rigby, Id 83442 9 July 2003 Dear Mr. Bigelow A letter was sent to you on 12 June 2003 regarding the construction at Autumn Arbor Complex apartments. In that letter you were informed that your permit had expired and you needed to come in and renew the permit. You have not complied with getting your permit renewed. Work has been completed since that letter without a permit and now you must stop all work on the project until the permit is renewed. A stop work order is now posted on the property until the problem is resolved. Your cooperation is appreciated. Thank You Jon Berry Building Inspector Attn. City of Rexburg Building Dept. To whom it may concern, I recently arrived at the job site at 44 So. 2nd East in Rexburg and found that a stop work notice had been placed on my property. The notice explained that I could no longer work on the site because of an expired building permit. This was a surprise to me because I had bought the permit on October 2, 2002. The foundation was poured in October and November. The plumbing and heat ducts were installed in December. I could no longer work on the project because the ground was then frozen until March of 2003. In April, I spent a week backfilling and finishing the heating and plumbing along with a worker of mine by the name of Dave Williams from Las Vegas. I was finishing two other houses at the same time and my intentions were to finish the homes, then come back and continue the work on the project. I am just starting my own building business and a lot of the work is done by myself rather than contracting it out. I am not as quick as some of the bigger companies because my resources are limited. I hope to begin framing on this project in August and be completed with the project in the spring of 2004. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call, Thank you, Jeremiah Bigelow, Managing Member J v&.y IQ , 2tx>3 Canyon Investments L.L.C. 107 N. 3900 E.
