Dear Kevin,
I have reviewed the drawings that you have provided me for the remodel of the office
building located at 32 West 1s South and have identified the following discrepancies:
1. The size of the space dictates that two exits are required. Exits signs shall be
provided at the back of the space and in rear corridor as per the 1997 Uniform
Building Code (UPC) Section 1008.2.8.
2. The rear exit door must be able to swing out and operate without the use of a
latch during business hours as per UBC Section 1003.3.1.5.
3. Provide framing details for the front canopy construction. Details are needed
that identify how loads will be transferred to the existing structure as well as the
labeling, sizing and spacing of individual components.
4. The plan provided us identifies the rear corridor being blocked off. Other
exiting arrangements for the other tenants must be identified and approved by
this office prior to this action being taken.
5. Finish handicapped bathroom to A.D.A standards.
Please provide me the details and drawings that will satisfy the requirements identified. If
