In regards to the IECC requirements on the subject job, the following should be noted: 1. The Lube bay is heated by a Waste Oil furnace, using waste car and truck oil from the Lube shop. Since the waste oil must be disposed of anyway, it would have no energy cost, so it would be exempt from the MCC. Given the amount of time the overhead doors will be open servicing the cars, the thermostat Would be set to maintain a temperature of 49 deg. F. 2. The Wash bay is heated by a ceiling mounted infrared heater. This type of heater heats the surfaces, rather than the air_ The design is to keep the surfaces above freezing temperatures, due to all the water in the car wash. With the amount of time the overhead doors will be open, the thermostat would be set at 45 deg. F. 3. The Storage room houses the main water supply, the Snowmeh boilers and the Wash bay water heater. This room just needs to be kept above freezing. A gas fired unit heater thermostat would be set at 45 deg. F.
