corridor length is set at 20'-0" per Section 1017.3 of the 2006 IBC. I believe we are
in compliance with this requirement. Our corridor length is 16' -11" as indicated on
the attached drawing.

response. In my haste, I did not have the correct information to present to you. As a
result, we have revised the plans based on actual field measured conditions. I have

We agree that the building is required to have two exits and as such the dead end
corridor length is set at 20' -0" per Section 1017.3 of the 2006 IBC. I believe we are
in compliance with this requirement. We understand the 20' -0" dead end
requirement as follows:
Once an occupant enters a corridor they have two options, turn right or turn left. One
of these choices has to lead to an exit. The other may lead to a dead end. If it does
lead to a dead end, then the distance from the door that accessed the corridor to the
end of the corridor can not exceed 20' -0 ". As you can see by the attached sketch, we
comply with this interpretation.
