Bearing pressure taken as 2000 PSF for column and wall footings, based on a sandy gravel and /or gravel (Table 1804.2, Class of Materials 14). Notify Engineer if conditions encountered are different. 2. Bear footing on some type of undisturbed soil or rock throughout the entire structure. D. MATERIALS 1. Dimensional Lumber 12 Douglas Fir 2. Wood Stud Framing Stud Grade Douglas Fir J. Concrete f'c - Ftgs & Walls 3000 PSI Slabs 4000 PSI 4. Reinforcing Steel ASTM A615 - Grade 60 5. Structural Bolts ASTM A307 E. REINFORCED CONCRETE 1. Concrete shall be of ready mix type conforming to ASTM C94. 2. Comply with ACI 306 Cold Weather Concrete standards if the mean daily temperature is expected to drop below 401• for 3 or more successive days. Place no concrete against frozen earth. J. Control joints in large areas of slab on grade shall be placed in checkerboard fashion in lengths not to exceed 20 feet in any direction. F. REINFORCING STEEL 1. Splices of reinforcement at points of maximum stress shall be avoided wherever possible. Minimum lap for splices she. be 40 bar diameters for masonry and 30 bar diameters for concrete, unless otherwise noted. 2. All continuous reinforcement shall terminate with 90 degree return or hook or separate corner bar. 3. Minimum concrete cover for reinforcing bars shall be as specified in Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete (ACI 318). 6. Welding or tack welding of reinforcing bars is prohibited unless specifically approved by the Engineer. G. LUMBER 1. Comply with the Ti nber Construction Standards of the American Institute of Timber Construction Manual (AITC -85). 2. Do not notch anystructural wood member unless shown on the drawings. 3. Install and follow ►I manufacturers guidelines for Engineered Wood I members and LVL products. - -DO NOT NOTCH OR CUT FLANGES OF ENG WOOD I MEMBERS.- - 4. All nails shall be common wire nails. Any nails exposed to weather or moisture shall be of stainless steel or shall be galvanized. 5. Nailing to conform to IBC Table 2304.9.1 unless noted otherwise (See Nailing Schedule). 6. Wherever possible nails should be driven perpendicular to the grain instead of toe nails. 7 Where wood tends to split, holes for nails shall be bored a diameter smaller than that of the nails. 8. Plywood face grain must be perpendicular to its supports. 9. Roof trusses to be designed and engineered by supplier to meet the design loads herein indicated in addition to any and all drifting loads, wind loads, equipment loads and other loads as indicated on framing plan. Submit shop drawings and calculations for review. NAILING SCHEDULE 15132" APA Rated 32116 Roof Sheathing No blocking required unless shown on framing plan. See typical detail. DEFERRED SUBMITTALS List of deferred submittals (shop drawings) that require Architectural and /or Engineering review and approval before fabrication or installation begins: 1. Engineered Roof Trusses I. GENERAL NOTES 1. Adequate shoring and brocing of all structural members during construction shall be provided. 2. Any proposed field changes shall have prior approval from the Engineer. J. Contractor shall verify all dimensions in the field. Any variation from the drawings shall be brought to the attention of the Engineer. 4.
