1. All footings shall bear on undisturbed soil or engineered fill.
2. All concrete not otherwise specified shall be stone or gravel concrete to
test 3000 psi at 28 days (see specs) when tested according to standard
ASTM corr►ression tests.
3. All compression test results to be evaluated according to ACI Standard
Recommended Practice for Evaluation of Compression Test Results of Field
Concrete (ACI 315).
4. All detailing, fabrication and erection of reinforcing bars must conform
to the ACI Manual of Standard Practice for Detailing Reinforced Concrete
Structures (ACI 315-65).
5. All bars are to be supported in the form and spaced with wire bar supports
conforming to the requirements, of the ACI Manual of Standard Practive for
Detailing Reinforced Concrete Structures (ACI 315-65). Reinforcing bars
in footings shall be supported on precast concrete block bar supports con-
forming to Ccncrete Reinforcing Steel Institute Manual of Standard Practice
(4000 psi concrete in blocks).
6. Minimum concrete cover for reinforcing bars shall be 3" for footings, 2
for concrete exposed to earth (formed), 1-112" fQr beam and columns, 3/4
for slabs or as called for on the drawings.
7. Splices of reinforcement at points of maxiT= stress shall be avoided where-
ever possible. Minimum overlap for a lapped splice shall be 310 bar diameters
, unless noted. Reinforcing bars shall be AS-I'M A-615 Grade 40 deformed (ex-
cept #2). All welded wire fabric to conform to ASTM A-185.
8. All continuous reinforcement shall terminate with 90 degrees return c-_� hook
or a separate corner bar.
9. All vertical reinforcement in columns or walls shall be dowelled from the
footings or structure below with rebar of the same m� size and spacing as re-
quired above,'

11, Unless detaild otherwise provide extra reinforcement around openings in

12. No aluminum products shall be embedded in concrete. Electrical conduits
shall be placed in mid-height of slabs and shall have an od less than one-
third of slab thickness.
13. All construction joints shall be located so as not to impair the strength
of the structure unless noted on the drawings all reinforcement shall be
continuous through joint-s. Each construction Joint shall be keyed.
14. All structural steel and structural steel work shall comply w'-"h the
Specification for the Design, Vabrication and Erection of Structural Steel
for Buildings of the AISC and the RISC Code of Standard Practice.
15. All welding must also conform, to this code of the AISC as well as the
AWS Standard Code for Are and Gas :fielding in Building Construction.
16. All structural steel shall be ASEl A-36. All steel joist shall meet Steel
Joist Institute Standards.
17. Furnish 4 of approved granular material under all concrete slabs on made.
18. All field welding operations to be carried out by operators who have pre-
viously qualified by tests per American Welding. "Society standard qualif-
ication procedure to perform the work required. '.- test ha been
made within the last six (6) months.
