KAy <br />Ex-Offido Recorder Deputy <br /> <br />000849 <br /> <br /> <br />N REDEVEL <br /> <br /> <br />The following are just a few wild possibilities to consider when thinking about <br />redeveloping the Downtown: <br /> <br />1. Reconstruct alleys on the north and south sides of Main St. <br /> <br />2. Rehabilitate sanitary sewers in the alleys on the north and south <br />sides of Main St. <br /> <br />3. Construct storm drainage system where needed in alleys and streets in the <br />redevelopment area. <br /> <br />4. Reconstruct College St. from Main St. to 2nd South St. (One southbound lane <br />of traffic with parking on one side, curvilinear alignment, heavy landscaping and <br />pedestrian walkways). <br /> <br />5. Reconstruct Center St. from Main St. to 2nd South St. (Two way traffic, parallel <br />parking both sides, curvilinear alignment, heavy landscaping and pedestrian walkways). <br /> <br />6. Make 1 st East, Center and 1 st West the through streets and 1 st South St. the <br />STOP street. <br /> <br />7. Expand parking lot north of Main St between Center and 1st East St. from a <br />number of small private lots to a large public parking lot bounded by the alley (on the <br />south), the Fire Station (on the west), the back property lines of the businesses along 1 st <br />North St., and the Penney's Store (on the east). Improve backdoor access to all the <br />businesses similar to the way Utah Power and the bank have done. <br /> <br />8. Expand parking lot south of Main St. between College St. and Center St. This <br />could be done by demolishing one of three bUildings ( the old hotel, the Kandy Kitchen, or <br />Gringos). Improve backdoor access to businesses fronting on Main St. <br /> <br />9. Expand parking lot south of Main St. between Center St. and Broulim's. This <br />could be done by demolishing some existing storage buildings. Improve backdoor <br />access to businesses fronting on Main St. and businesses fronting on 2nd. South St. <br />This could be turned into an interior Mini Mall. <br /> <br />10. Improve Downtown lighting both along the streets and in the parking lots. <br /> <br />11. Improve Downtown landscaping both along the streets and in the parking lots. <br /> <br />12. Change from "angle" to "parallel" parking on Main St. and create a median left <br />turn lane. <br />
